Amenity Block

or

67 orphans are in urgent need of basic sanitation infrastructure!

With only one water tap to share for hand washing, showers, and everyday cooking and laundry, these children have drastically inadequate sanitation and struggle constantly with diarrheal diseases.
The new amenity block will improve sanitation and prevent children from hygiene-related illnesses.
Give these children a chance to wash their hands before meals and shower before bed!
The orphanage is located in Northern Laos and serves as a home for 67 abandoned children and as a school for another 80 underprivileged children from nearby communities.

Computer School

or

The opportunity for 120 HIV affected children to survive in the modern world!

The biggest issue with HIV affected childrenis that they are unable to enter many professions that are considered normal for other people.
Computer classes will bring marketable skills and far better employment opportunities for these marginalised children.
Help the children to develop new skills for a better future!
When we asked children: Who do you want to be? What job do you want to have? The children reply that they want to be cooks, nurses, childcare workers, nailing stylists or hairdressers. Then we approached educational providers and realised that these children will not be welcomed to many industries because of their HIV/AIDS status, as they will have a direct contact with food or people.
Because of the stigma of HIV/AIDS in Vietnamese society there is huge discrimination against people with HIV. We are trying to introduce professions where children have least discrimination possible.

Children’s Clubhouse

or

A safe place to keep 80 vulnerable children out of trouble and provide creative and empowering after-school activities.

The children exist on a remote island cut off form the rest of the world. Some of the children are under constant threat of abuse at homeand all of them are geographicallyisolated and lack opportunities. The problem is escalating due to the poverty and displacement caused by recent cyclones and floods.
The clubhouse will be the place where the children can get back on their feet, feel comfortable and be able to talk about what is happening to them.
Your support will ensure a brighter future for these forgotten children!
The clubhouse will provide a safe space for the children to learn valuable skills, play sports, socialise and interact with supervising elders from the surrounding community. Children learn best when they can work on projects that they are passionate about and actively engage in the implementation process - not just passively receiving information as they do at local small one room school. The skills learned will empower young people to become more capable, creative and confident learners that will help them succeed in their careers and contribute to their impoverished communities.

The Trip of a Lifetime!

or

A truly life changing experience for 103 HIV/AIDS affected, orphaned and impoverished children!

Losing a parent is terrible for any child, but children living in orphanages who lose parents to AIDS face unthinkable hardships.
The trip of a lifetime will awaken in children the desire to participate in life to the fullest extent possible.
Take the children beyond the orphanage walls!
These children suffer emotional trauma as they not only have watched their parents die, but also they have been rejected by their remaining relatives because of the social stigma of HIV/AIDS and the difficulty and expense of providing proper care.
The trip of a lifetime will give them experiences that will not only bring joy, but will also expand their view of the world and cultivate in them a belief in their own worth.
Location: Cambodia
Duration: 2 Days
Cost: US$3,860
Serves: 103 children
The trip includes: Transportation of the children and staff members in two 55-seater buses to Sihanoukville, one day at the beach, one day in a National park, an overnight stay at a guesthouse, 6 healthy meals, fruits and snacks, entertainment and sightseeing.

THE BIG BIRTHDAY

or

Give the feeling of LOVE to the unwanted children and brighten their world.

Many orphaned children have no mom, no dad; some do not know their date of birth. To create equality between all the children, we celebrate one BIG BIRTHDAY – an annual event with cake, entertainment, a scrumptious meal and presents. 430 orphans are waiting for their birthday celebration this year.
Thank you for brightening the lives of the most disadvantaged children!
When we organise THE BIG BIRTHDAY at an orphanage, not only orphans, but many children from impoverished families in the nearby community are invited to celebrate together.
Socialising and sharing the birthday cake with their little neighbours’ children makes stronger bonds and friends. By involving the entire neighbourhood to celebrate together we help create equality and build a stronger community.

Christmas & New Year Celebration

or

Share Your Christmas Spirit! Your generosity will bring a MEAL, a GIFT and a CELEBRATION to the most disadvantaged children.

Many of these children have lost one or both of their parents, others have been left in the care of grandparents who do not have an income to financially support them and some have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS. The social stigma associated with this chronic illness means that they do not have the community support that other children would have.
With your help, we can touch the hearts of these children and bring Christmas Cheer to them!
What to us may be simple to them may be extraordinary…
Our target is to bring Christmas & New Year celebration, entertainment, dinner and presents to 942 seriously ill, HIV affected, orphaned and underprivileged children from families in need, orphanages and impoverished communities we are working with in Australia and the Asia Pacific.
The presents will include personal hygiene items: toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo; school supplies: colour pens and pencils, crayons, colouring books; and some sweets and toys if the budget allows.
Please arrange your donations or finalise your fundraising event by 15th of December.
